Do I need to provide identification when joining online? 

Usually no, we will attempt to verify your identity electronically. We will contact you if this check fails.

The online form won't accept some of my details?

Please give us a call - we will be able to provide assistance with the view to getting you signed up!

Frequently asked questions

Am I eligible to join?

To be eligible to join, you must live or work in Carmarthenshire, West Glamorgan, Pembrokeshire or Ceredigion. We currently cannot accept members who do not live within these areas. 

Can I join in-branch instead?

Of course! During Covid-19 you will need to call your nearest branch and ask for an appointment to join (or send us a message and we will come back to you) - when joining in branch you will need to bring proof of identification (list here).

How much does it cost to join?

There is a one-off, non-refundable £1 administration charge which must be paid to activate your account.

What happens after I join?

We will give you a call so we can take a card payment (minimum £10) to get your account activated. During the call we will be able to answer any questions you have. We will also email you a Welcome Pack providing you with all the information you need regarding your membership.

I want to start saving?

Great! You can save by a variety of methods - standing order from your bank, payroll deduction (eligible Employers only), cash, cheque, bank card, payment card (AllPay) or at one of our pop-up branches. After you've paid your entrance fee we can provide you with the details needed.

Example saving amounts:

1) £5 per week, £260 saved after 1 year.

2) £10 per week, £520 saved after 1 year.

3) £15 per week, £780 saved after 1 year.

Are my savings safe?

Yes. We're covered by the FSCS Scheme, protecting your savings up to £85,000.

Can I withdraw my savings at any time?

Provided you don't have a loan balance outstanding, you are free to withdraw from your savings as needed.

What is the interest rate on savings?

We pay an annual dividend where applicable every November. For more information please contact us.

Our Family Loan is a great start to borrowing with the Credit Union.

How can I keep track of my savings and/or loan balance?

You can register for online members area here. This will allow you to log in at any time and track how you're getting on with your savings and/or loan repayments. Alternatively, you can call us during opening hours and we can provide a balance over the phone.

How do I close my account?

To close your account please telephone or visit your nearest branch.
